How weird is, giving roses to random girls who look lonely on V-day?

I don't want to come off as a freak, but sometimes I just like to make a girl smile, I don't ask for a # or even really expect to see them again, is giving a rose to girls that look lonely a bad idea? or is it ok? Girls would it make you happy, or scare the crap out of you that some random guy gave you a flower? (well not completely random, It might be a girl from school, or rarely work(not the part I work on)

That would be really sweet seriously. I would be greatly happy and appreciative. A rose might be over doing it though. I would try a lilly of a sort or maybe a daisy or even a tulip :]

And truly give the flower that you want the only thing i would stay away from are red and pink roses for their meanings red-true love pink-young love try yellow-friendship because if your planing on giving them to the women i think you are a rose is truly the best flower to give some might have never received a rose from anybody yet EVER. just whatever your planing on doing make sure your doing it for the right reasons and that your prepared for anything that might come of it. who's to say you won't ever see them again?
Reply:aww how cute, i would love a rose on valentines day if i was feeling lonely. Some beg to differ that other girls will think you are a stalkerish freak so just make sure they know that your intentions are pure :)

Reply:I dunno, kind of on the creepy side. I don't think I'd be bothered by it so much if you weren't using the "lonely girl" angel. What does a lonely girl look like? And, you say, I don't "really" expect to see them again, verses...I DONT expect to see them again. If a guy came up to me in the supermarket and cheerfully said, here's a rose Happy V-Day, I'd be pleased. But, there is a decoram to be followed, and I just don't think you get it. Sorry.

but do not attempt to give to some girl who is total stranger and standing alone in the bus-stop! if u pop a flower in front of her and she may misunderstand u and scream for help!

Reply:I don't know about roses...they're a little personal. You might try carnations, or a "simple" flower like that. The rose is likely to make a girl think you really "like" her whereas a cheaper, more normal flower would just be....nice.

Reply:as long as you don't stink or say something creepy when you do it, it seems to me like a nice random act of kindness. don't mention that they 'look lonely', or you might get someone upset. just hand it to them and say happy valentine's day. i think it's sweet.
Reply:If you're a very enthusiastic person with an outgoing personality and people never know what to expect from you, then it should work. It all depends how you approach it. Like, if you walk up to the girl with your head down and kind of mumble "happy Valentine's day" and hand her a rose then you'll definitely get some strange looks. But if you make it clear that it's all in within the limits of good fun and friendliness then I don't see anything wrong with it.
