Is dill pretty EASTY TO GROW???

I think it's a lovely plant and I love the look + texture -- shape of 'leaves' it has. Thought about using it as a fill in border in some parts of my garden, only my flower garden is full sun.

Does dill prefer FS or PS??

Is it QUICK %26amp; easy growing?

I'm grownig for seed

thx!

Is dill pretty EASTY TO GROW???
Dill is GREAT to grow. Fresh dill great to have, and homemade pickles are a great thing to do.

We had dill in Arizona at one point. Sun is no big deal for dill.

I recommend growing the dill in garden boxes. It makes it so easy.

You can build your own self contained garden box. We did it.

Good luck with your dill!
Reply:Yes, dill grows easier in a do. That's why they call it a dilldo.
Reply:Yes,it grows just like a weed and full sun is good, just give it plenty of water. Insects like it. I like it. It makes a good garnish as well as a flavor enhancer for food. It smells good when crushed too. It grows tall to about 30 inches in case you are not aware.
Reply:Dill grows fairly quickly, and does not care whether it has full or partial sunlight... The only problem it has, (and this is a benefit to tomatoes) is that the horned tomato worm loves it, too. Ussually the worm does not show up if there are no tomato plants around, but if it does, just pull it off( it won't hurt you) and smash it. When the flowers turn to seed, watch them closely, and when you notice that a few seeds have fallen, it's time to "bring in the crop"!!!!

Have fun and good luck!!!!

Been organic gardening %26amp; using "companion planting" for over 20 yrs.
Reply:Dill is easy to grow, about the easiest of the common kitchen herbs. It usually is grown in full sunexcept some of the hottest and driest climates where it may do better in partial shade. It can grow pretty tall, I have seen it 5'. The dwarf vaieties might be better in a flower garden.
Reply:Since dill is considered a weed it grows very easy.
Reply:Dill is very easy to grow, just be sure not to grow it near any fennel as they will hybrid. Full sun is fine. Pinch the tops before they flower and this is so funny...last year I was buying seeds and the dill didn't do so well, so I asked my hubby, I wonder if you can grow it from dill seed bought at the grocery store. Well, a can of it cost me 79 cents and the dill grew beautifully!! Don't waste your money on garden seed, buy it in the spice aisle!!
Reply:Dill prefers full sun and may need support from winds. It self-sows so choose a permanent position.Plant as seed anytime but winter. Thin the seedlings out when about 5cms to give them room to grow. Can grow to 1m. Seeds quickly and abundantly. Needs water in hot weather and mulch well. To collect the seeds It is easy to hang the spent flowers in a brown paper bag upside down in a cool dry place ,until the seeds ripen and fall into the bag. Then let the seeds dry by spreading them out in a warm dark place on something like thick brown paper.
