Hi!
I would like to incorporate some roses into my centerpieces but I would like them to be tiffany blue. Thats the trickiest part as its a very particular shade.
Has anyone done this and could you provide some advise?
I would appreciate any advise in painting fresh flowers in general though.
Thanks and blessings to all. May your life be filled with light, love and compromise.
How to paint fresh flowers tiffany blue?
Heritage hobby spray paint
You can use it on flowers and it's not the regular nasty stuff you get from the store- it actually had an elasticity to it which moves and breaths with the flowers!! NO fake shininess! NO crusting!!!
Edit: This woman spray painted flowers for a bride and even has a pic posted!
Reply:I used to have a wedding business. A couple of ideas: Either you can airbrush them, or.... have you thought about possibly incorporating some silk flowers in with your fresh ones? There are some very good ones out there which can blend seamlessly with your centerpieces, you can get them at any craft store, and they can be made so as to be able to be removed later as mementos for the wedding party.
Reply:you can tint flowers by adding food coloring to their water. you mix the color want and add a little at a time to the water in order to get the exact shade.
but honestly i would consider finding silk flowers and incorporating those into your real flowers, much easier and good silks mixed in with real flowers are almost indistinguishable from the fresh flowers. or incorporate your blue in your ribbons and trim.
good luck and happy wedding!
Reply:No, please don't. Flowers spray painted in colors that simply do not occur in nature is gross and cheap looking. Get some lovely white roses or roses in a complimentary color, champagne, pale pink, yellow, etc.
Reply:I would suggest talking to a florist about dying the flowers then buy a test group of white roses to make sure you know exactly how much to use. I don't know about particular brands but have use plain food coloing for science experiments. I am incorporating a flower into my bouquet that is not in season in July and my florist showed me silk flowers combined with real and they really did not look fake - I was surprised! If you do choose that route, get them at a floral studio NOT the local Wal-Mart! Much better quality! Good luck and best wishes!
Reply:go to a flower shop and they will airbrush it that color. i did it for my daughters recital.
Reply:I do not advise using dyed flowers in your wedding bouquet. Especially doing it your self! And blue at that. One major reason is because the color does bleed off. Just like when a natural petal becomes wet it may sometimes stain clothes (especially white). And when blue dye rubs off it's horrid and you can't get it out. Some floral shops do use fresh floral dye (absortion dye) in the water but you have to know exactly how to do it or you may kill the flowers. I truely advise against it. There are other ways to bring that color in, like using ribbon wrapped against the flowers, or having the linens that color and using white flowers in the centerpieces, and bouquets.
Once in my own business, I never used dye no matter what client asked or how much money they were willing to pay, I allways felt it looked - well not right.
