The part of the poem that I remember goes like this:
A little gray tabby arrived at the farm
Dancing among field flowers
She stopped at the well for a lady-like sip
And thanked with a lilting "miao."
Much to our mutual joy, she graciously offered to stay.
And charming the toms while placating the moms,
She zipped into kittenish play.
She leaped into laps without pause,
she snuggled and wiggled and purred. . .
And that's where my memory leaves off. Help me out by posting the rest if you know it or have the book it's in! Thank you!
Do you know a poem beginning "A little gray tabby arrived at the farm"? What's the rest of it?
It sounds like Margaret Wise Brown, but I couldn't find the poem anywhere. Sorry.
