Are Peace lillies poisonis to little babies????

My little 1 yr old brother got a hold of part of a peace lily flower and we don't know if its gonna hurt him or not? Can anyone help??

If you are using a search engine try typing in "poisonous" rather than "poisonis". Better yet, look up poison control in you phonebook and call them.

Reply:all parts of the peace lily are poisonous if ingested. Meaning if he ate any part of it he needs to be taken to the nearest emergency room along with the flower. It is poisonous to everyone not just babies

What to do for a plant poisoning

Remove any remaining plant parts from the mouth.

Otherwise, call the Poison Control Center.

If you are advised to go to an emergency room for treatment, take the plant or a part of the plant with you. Do not take a single leaf or a single berry.

If you are advised to go to a nursery to get the plant identified, keep in mind that plants are usually not very quickly digested, so there is time to get a correct identification. The correct name can result in the proper treatment to prevent symptoms from occurring if the plant was poisonous. If the plant was not dangerous, knowing the name can prevent needless treatment and worry

With being in the nursery industry over 10 years I have not expierenced anything detrimental about this plant. I searched a well know gardening referencd book and it does not indicate weather it is poisinous ethier. I asked my collegueges they have not heard anything ethier.

However everyones body is different, if something does indicate on your baby then get medical attention.

I posted a link that lists plants that are posinious, hopefully it will be useful to you. Peace Lilly or Spathyllum is not listed on it.
