Q about geraniums?

When they get brown, how much do I remove? Say a flower is %80 brown. Do I remove the brown only and leave the red? Remove all of it? If I remove the whole flower, am I supposed to take the stem part too, or just the flower itself? Thanks, I want the geraniums to thrive.

Q about geraniums?
the BEST way to maintain a geranium is as soon as the flower turns the least bit brown ,follow the stem down with your thumb and forefinger until you feel the ball at the base of the stem and break it off at the ball ,once you do it a time or two you will feel what i mean.every time you do that two flowers will grow in its place ,plus the fully developed flower starts to drain the plant as soon as it matures .do this and in one month your plant will have so many flowers that it will seem like work to keep up with it. p.s. if you live up north ,in the winter you can pull them up ,shake all the dirt off ,and hang them upside down in the garage ,and replant them in the spring.
Reply:When they are 80% brown snip/cut them off, flower stem as well. You can leave the flower stem if you like but it looks untidy.
