What part of a Peace lily is Poisonous to animals?

Is it the flower, the leaves, or just the whole thing?

I just got one for Valentines day, and my cat loves eating plant leaves, should I get another plant to distract her from the peace lily, or are the leaves safe? I'm keeping it away from her for now.

i believe its the flower so i say the whole thing
Reply:Hi,

I'm afraid it's the entire plant. The gastrointestinal tract is effected by the plants toxins. It can also cause dermatitis. Keep it away from your kitty!
Reply:The whole thing
Reply:all of the plant is
Reply:According to the following website the leaves are the poisonous part.

If you wish to attract the cat's attention elsewhere then you should get some catnip. Its an herb cats love it (unless u have a Siamese) they seem to kinda ignore it.http://www.holoweb.com/cannon/catnip.htm
